Chinese company announces to set up SUV plant in Pakistan | Life TV Online

Chinese company Cherry Automobile has announced to set up a vehicle manufacturing plant at Karachi Port Qasim in collaboration with Gandhara Nissan for which an initial investment of کروڑ 10 million will be made. Cherry Automobile Co., Ltd., a Chinese car exporter, has partnered with Gandhara Nissan, an auto company, for local production of the latest generation Tiggo series SUV in Pakistan. Gandhara Nissan will invest more than کروڑ 10 million in the first four years, which will help create jobs. Cherry Pakistan will start operations with an initial dealership network of 8 dealers across the country and a production capacity of 16,000 units per annum, while in the second phase, the production capacity will be increased to 32,000 units per annum. Sales of locally manufactured vehicles Tiggo 8 pro and Tiggo 4 pro in Pakistan are expected to start in the financial year 2021-22 for which Cherry and Gandhara make joint efforts to set up a world class plant at Port Qasim. Will Cherry's Executive Vice President Charlie Zhang said that at present the share of automobiles in Pakistan's current GDP is 4%.
