Federal Minister for Coastal Affairs Ali Zaidi released the details of the project via tweet. Karachi Coastal Comprehensive Development Zone (KCCDZ) The 3.5 3.5 billion project will provide a modern urban infrastructure zone to Karachi The partnership with PT will be built with direct Chinese investment. According to Federal Minister for Coastal Affairs Ali Zaidi, the project will be a game changer for Pakistan. In the meeting of the 10th Joint Cooperation Committee on C-Pac held in Islamabad and Beijing, the two countries agreed to include Karachi Coastal Comprehensive Development Zone in the C-Pac framework. The project will reclaim 640 acres of swampy land west of Karachi Port. According to a statement issued by the Federal Minister, the provision of low cost housing facility as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan is also part of the KCCDZ project which will resettle 20,000 families in the adjoining areas. In this eco-friendly project, four new berths will also be added at Karachi Port, which will increase the capacity of Pakistan's growing maritime sector. A state-of-the-art fishing port and world class fisheries processing zone are also part of the project which will increase Pakistan's trade potential. The project will improve marine ecosystems as well as reduce marine pollution. The project also includes the construction of a water treatment plant on the Lyari River. This important Chinese-assisted project will be connected to Karachi via a Harbor Bridge.
